Kids Say The Darndest Things

The girls and I have been having some really funny conversations lately. I want to remember this when they are older so I thought I would post some of my favs:

Rylee: I'm not allergic to dogs mom just the ones with black hair.

Ella: Rylee are you allergic to black crayons?

Ella: Mommy why do you put that stuff on, is it so you can look like a ghost?

( watching me put concealer on, apparently I need to use another color)

Rylee: Mom when I go to college can I bring Ella with me cause I'm really gone to miss her!

Me: She can visit you and will be in college with you in a few years.

Rylee: I'm going to stay close to home cause I would miss you guys too much.

Rylee: I don't want to grow up, can I live with you and Dad forever?

Me: You don't ever have to move out Rylee. We would LOVE for your to live with us forever.

Rylee: When I leave for college I'm going to bring all my stuffed animals with me.

Me: Trying to talk to Ella about being nice to our friends and how we should play. I told her we don't scratch our friends it hurts.

Ella: Well then cut my nails mommy.

Rylee: When I have kids I'm going to let them do what ever they want. Except I won't let them play with my glass.

Me: You won't let them play with your glass, what does that mean?

Rylee: My glass in the dining room, I don't want them to break it!

Ella: Mommy just use one tangle, I don't like two. I just want a little pony tail to the side.

Tangle means hair tie some how she decided that is what they are called. Just one means no pig tails!

Rylee: Mommy when we get older what's our new name going to be?

Me: What do you mean what's your new name going to be? Do you mean when you get married what will your last name be?

Rylee: Yes, what's my husbands name going to be?

Me: I have no idea Rylee. You won't meet him for a long time. It could be anything maybe you'll meet him at college.

Rylee: You don't know who I'm going to marry?

Rylee: I don't want to get old I want to be a kid forever. I don't want to use one of those walking things, my neck would look weird and wrinkly, and my arms will get those hanging things!

Me: Me either Rylee. Getting old is no fun.

There's nothing more entertaining than watching four and five year olds play soccer! My favorite part is getting all the feedback in the car ride on the way home. Ella loved to tell me how the kids wouldn't share and they wouldn't kick the ball to her. Rylee was telling Ella she should stop standing around and play soccer. Ella proceeded to tell me "mom I'm not standing there, I'm watching all the people!" They almost look like the same kid out there on the field. It took them a few weeks to get into but we will probably keep them in for a while. They will be starting again in July. Hopefully Chris won't work every Saturday and he can come with me to cheer them on. I guess if he can't be there at least grandma and grandpa make pretty good replacements! Not a bad trade.
